WordPress WishList Membership Script
WishList Member is a powerful membership script that can turn any WordPress blog into a full blown membership site. Its brand new and my preliminary review puts it right up there at the top of my list for my upcoming membership site.
The script loads just like any other WordPress plugin and allows you to set up several classes of members, and the ability to assign each of them to different landing pages and different pages that they can access.
When you write a page, you actually select before you publish which classes of members of member can visit the site. This prevents that small window of access that some membership sites allow between publishing and access settings.
Play the video and then decide. For a single site the cost is $97. For any number of sites that you own, the price is $297. Compare that with aMembers $179.95 price with a $40 WordPress plugin and a complicated setup procedure.
You can have WishList Member set up and collecting money before you can even figure out how to integrate it with the WordPress plugin. Take a look at WishList Member for yourself. Don't just take my word for it.

Using WP-Shopping Cart on Semiologic Site / WordPress
I spent a few hours today setting up a simple shopping cart using the wp-shoppingcart plugin. I entered a few products, set up the PayPal configuration and attempted to make a mock purchase.
The PayPal site greeted me with the following message:
"Return to Merchant
Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address."
I googled the problem and found the WordPress help topic addressing this issue at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/153679
Unfortunately the information and the file identified as being at /includes/modules/payment/paypal_ipn.php turned out to be incorrect.
Searching through the shoppingcart plugin revealed the code at wp-content/plugins/wp-shoppingcart/merchants/paypal_multiple.php Open the designated file and scroll to the area shown in the graphic below.

Locate the highlighted line and comment it out as shown. If you use WeBuilder 2007 for your php edits, the line numbers shown should be accurate. Save the edited version of this file and all should now work with PayPal.
Try it out and let me know if you find any problems.
