Antics of Darrell Ridley

If you happened to come here based on a search suggested on the semiologicreloadedskins website, you might be interested in knowing something about the history and relationship between me and one of the principals of that company.

First, an answer to some of the comments made on their latest post written by "Joe West".  Joe makes a statement that I know nothing about web design because my background is as a Land Surveyor.  I am, in fact a retired Land Surveyor as any Google Search will show.  As a Land Surveyor designing residential subdivisions and creating project submissions, I have extensive experience in form and function and proper use of white space in layout.

Google "Joe West" and you will find a baseball umpire and a musician, but no one who could be an experienced web designer of the caliber of Denis de Bernardy developer of Semiologic or of Brian Gleason, Cort Miller or a multitude of other designers of WordPress Themes.

The same can be said of Maxx Kremer.  What is his background other than what he state regarding 12 years in programing etc.  Then there is Darrell Ridley, a man known to exploit his customers, fail to pay his employees and steal from his potential business partners and close customers hosting accounts without warning or refund.  This site was once hosted by Your Domain Names Hosting.  One year later, the hosting company is gone. ( http://www.yourdomainsname.net/)

The Semiologic forum had one poster named George Cruise who was always asking questions on web design, oddly about features that appeared in semioogicreloadedskins.  Denis was always helpful and answered each question.  One time though he made a comment about round corners on certain themes and I made a comment that css round corners were not recognized by IE.

His answer and  the subsequent change in the skins of semiologicreloadedskins led me to investigate George Cruise.  George was posting from the IP of  202.69.184.236 , the same location in the Philippians where Darrell Ridley lives.  That combined with the term "dogs breakfast" which I recognized from prior conversations with Darrell Ridley,  and his providing of a client URL on forum post located at http://forum.semiologic.com/discussion/5456/flash-issues/#Item_9 which happens to be a site using Semiologic led me to conclude that he was indeed Darrell Ridley and he was then immediately banned from the forum.

Joe West suggests that I might be jealous of his business because of my assertion that I, not them, was the first to use a dropdown menu on a Semiologic site.  In fact it was on this very site that the dropdown menu first appeared.  At the time Darrell was mismanaging Semiologic and plotting the theft of my money.

So am I jealous?  Indeed not.  If  history is a predictor,  Darrell will dissolve his custom skin development company just as he has done with Your Domain Names Hosting,  and Semiologic Hosting.   Joe West and Maxx Kremer may be decent people being exploited by Darrell, just as I was, but no matter.  Darrell Ridley is one bad apple and can easily spoil the whole barrel if given enough time.

Oh yes, the client site referred to above – it is nearly three months later and it is still a development site filled with video samples and Lorem Ipsum dummy text.

We have no business relationship other than my continuing efforts to get my money back. Jealosy, sour grapes…. you decide. That is my picture in the header. Try to find pictures of the other guys.

Hey, that's the name of my website in your photo… webvideocreators.com. I don't recognize the content or the theme, but that's the name of the site. It's still up on the web today.

I met this guy named Maxx online around March 2009. He sounded Australian or maybe from New Zealand. He said he lived in upstate NY. I subscribed to his Semiologic tutorials and had him help redesign my Semiologic theme.

I've never come across your site before, so I'm not sure what's going on, but that's definitely the name of the website my friend and I started for a business idea we were playing with.

How did the title of my site end up in a picture in your post? I guess I'll have to come back and read some of this stuff…
