Website Backup or Invite Disaster

If you don't back up your website regularly, you may be inviting possible financial ruin

We all know that we should backup our computer's hard drive, but when catastrophe strikes, most people do not have a recent backup.  Hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars are then necessary to attempt the recovery of the lost data.

Your website might be even more important and more vulnerable.  Constant revisions, template upgrades and the actions of unscrupulous hosts might play havoc with your site.  Then there are the hackers that exploit weaknesses in the site's platform to insert code which renders your site completely unuseable.

The solution is simple as I recently discovered.  After searching on the internet for an easy, yet reliable way to back up my clients websites, I discovered cP Site Saver.  I now simply list the site URL, cPanel login and password and the databases associates with the site.  Any addon domains are automatically included in any backup.

You then need to set up a schedule and specify a location on your hard drive to receive the backups.  You then can periodically burn the backups to DVD or upload to offline storage.  I personally upload weekly to my Amazon AWS S3 account.
